Dawn of Goo

This was my first try with stop motion. I used one of my painted space marines from Warhammer 40 000. Enjoy!

My Sweet Nemesis storyboard

The storyboards for my sweet nemesis are beeing made. They are pretty rough at the moment but I think that they serve pretty well.

The persuaders! (1971-1972)

The persuaders! (1971-1972) is about two playboys who gets into a fight and destroys property. To avoid serving time in the prison the judge makes a deal with them. Instead of going to prison they must work together and fight crime!
I have seen this series with my parents and sibling many, many times. What I remember fondly is when my mother always tells us about how she remembers the series from when it was new. Every time we pop in a disc and watch an episode we hear that story.

“It was the coolest series”
“Those wallpapers where so stylish back then”
“Back in those days that outfit where considered good looking”

My mother is right, in Sweden (the country I am from) this series where seen by 50% of the population! It was basically seen by anyone who could read the subtitles. Even with the questionable title translation “Snobbar som jobbar” that means “Snobs who works”. In America The persuaders! (1971-1972) where kind of a failure, even with Tony Curtis playing one of the lead roles Danny Wilde.
This is really one of those series that should be preserved, it really captures how the time saw on adventure. Hell it does a fantastic job in preserving late 60’s and early 70’s.

They are not happy about the raitings in USA.
What do I think of the series on its own? It is really good, I mean really good! The intro is glorious and simply fantastic. The actors Roger Moore and Tony Curtis are of course awesome in their roles and I particularly like the way their character evolve during the series 24 episodes.
Let’s say that television series mysteriously vanished and there were only ten different television series left to repopulate the earth. I would feel very confident with The persuaders! (1971-1972) as one of those ten series.

Nudist colony of the dead (1991)

This is not a porno, I will probably never review a porno on this site so don’t worry.  It is not a horror movie either. What kind of genre is this then? It’s a comedic musical... Of course! Isn’t that the first genre that comes to your min to when you hear the title Nudist colony of the dead? I thought that this would be a B rated zombie movie, good for a few laughs. What I found out was this musical that was freaking hilarious... some times.

Nudist colony of the dead (1991) is about a former nudist colony that got closed by religious fanatics. The nudists make a suicide pact and promise to return from the dead when religious people step their foot on the nudists land. Years later a group of teenagers camps at a bible retreat, former nudist colony. Eventually the nudist zombies wake up from the dead and goes after the Christian teenagers.

How could this ever turn into a comedy musical? Well it did and it is awesome... some times. I say that because this movie has some pretty boring parts. But the music parts are pretty funny, in a 60’s batman sort of way.  So bad it’s funny. My personal music number in this movie is “It’s an inky dinky doo dah morning”. Trust me, it will get stuck into your head after you have heard it.

Watch it with a group of friends and just have fun with it, it’s way more entertaining then what a movie with this title have the right to be.

Love this makeup!

I just LOVE this makeup on this person. I am going to write a script for a short movie and one of the characters must have this makeup. It’s decided.
If anyone of you out there knows how to do this kind of makeup, please write this in the commentary.
Cheers!

My sweet Nemesis script

The script for my newest production "My sweet Nemesis" is finally done! It will be a short movie, about 15 minutes, and the next step is making a kick ass storyboard for it.

cheers!

Shackleton (2002)

The movie beginns in the year 1914 and is centered on the character Sir Ernest Shackleton (Kenneth Brannagh). This movie is based on the true story about the expedition to the South Pole and the crew on the ship Endurance. But the ship strikes disaster in Antarctica and the ship gets stuck in the ice. Now Schakleton must get his crew to safety.
This movie feels long, very long. But I would lie if I said that was because the movie is boring. But some parts drag to build some atmosphere. It is really hard to comment on a movie like this because the movie hasn’t really done anything wrong. The character Shackleton is written so well that you really feel the pain with him when the disaster strikes. I wish that this movie focused more on him and not so much on all other people around.
It’s a good movie, but I wouldn’t bring this one over to a friend and say: “Dude! We totally must see this Schackleton guy!”

The Core (2003)

This movie The Core is (2003) is one of those movies that you find in the bargain bin, don’t think that it will be any good but still buy it because of it price. The bargain bin is a kind of roulette, a game a chance and I am so grateful for participating in that game. It was actually not that bad.

This movie is about a situation when the earth’s core stops spinning. This is a great disaster since this means that the earth’s magnetic field is vanishing and will be exposed. Now a team of scientists must by some means take themselves to the earth’s core and make it spin again.

How do they do it? By taking a laser drilling submarine of course! The laser drilling submarine is made of a new material called Unobtanium, a material that gets stronger the more pressure it becomes exposed to. This is not to be confused with the Unobtanium from the movie Avatar (2009)… I think…
Anyway… The plan to restart the core is to set off a group of the world’s largest nuclear bombs at the core and let the waves created in the mantle set the core in motion.

The characters Dr. Josh Keyes(Aaron Eckhart) and Major Rebecca Childs(Hillary Swank) in the laser drilling submarine.

This movie is a good popcorn movie. Yeah some of the physics is totally wrong and the concept of a laser drilling submarine is weird. But it is also a very cool laser drilling submarine! The actors are god at portraying the characters and the dialog is almost never boring. And of course I shall not forget to mention the song in the credits, it’s awesome! In short the movie have kind of a dumb premise, but a really atmospheric dumb premise.

Really, if you are bored and have nothing to do, give this movie a shoot. I don’t think that it will disappoint you.

Highlander II: The Quickening (1991)

I am going to start with this… I have never seen the original Highlander from 1986. But I have seen its sequel Highlander II: The quickening (1991) many times before. So I think that I have a rare opportunity to give this movie a review on its own merits only.
The movie takes place in the year 2024 and earth is under a protective shield since the earth’s own ozone layer is destroyed. The shields creator, Connor MacLeoud (Christopher Lambert), created the shield in 1994 because of a promise he hid to his wife who died because of the sun. But now there are rumors of that the ozone layer have repaired itself and the shield is no longer needed.
There are two plots in this movie. The first is about Connor and a group if terrorists fight the shield cooperation to shut down the shield. The second plot is the one that every highlander fan hates, the Zeist plot.
Yes, Connor MacLeoud, the scotish highlander, is in fact an alien from planet Zeist. He participated in a rebellion against a general called Katana (Michael Ironside). The rebellion was a failure and as a penalty, Connor and the rebellion leader (Sean Connery) amongst others gets send to earth where they become immortal. The only way to kill an immortal is to cut off his head.
After 500 years Connor where the last immortal on earth and he could choose to either return to Zeist or grow old on earth. Connor of course chooses to stay on earth. Now in the year 2024, when Connor is an old man, general Katana decides to travel to earth and end Connors life.
I can understand why fans of the previous movie Highlander (1986) are disappointed and even hating it. But I, who have never seen any other highlander movie, am satisfied with this movie. It is not great but I can’t say that it is bad either.
Sean Connery is always fun to watch in any movie and the lead actor Christopher Lambert is a decent actor. It is a fun action flick with some cool sci-fi ideas. I think the problem is that maybe this idea didn’t have to be a sequel to Highlander.
I would recommend that you see this movie once and kind of forget what the title says.

My Final Fantasy

Today I got these items in my mail!
I imported the game Final Fantasy and the strategy guide from USA.
I have tested it a little already and it sure has the 8-bit retro feeling to it. The first impression: very good.

Who did Bond the best?

When you hear the words “Bond, James Bond” who do you think of? James Bond of course! But who do you think of? Roger Moore? Or maybe Sean Connery? In the movies there are 6 different 007’s and all of them bring a different style to the character. So who did it the best?

I will now make a list of my top 6 James Bond actors. Keep in mind that this is not only decided by the actor who plays the character but also the plot that builds the character. This is in no way an official list and your list may be different and that’s okay! In fact I would very interest if you wrote in the commentary your top 6 list and why.

Number 6: Daniel Craig. The latest 007 in the line. Daniel Craig is according to me a very different Bond compared to his predecessors. This bond is more reliant on action and not as much in his charm. I don’t think I have ever seen a bond that is this trigger happy and have this depressing personality.

It is always hard to be the new James Bond, there are a lot of high expectations. But even when taking out that from the equation I still feel like I have to put Daniel Craig on the number six spot. This 007 agent is different, I’ll give him that, it is kind of cool to se James Bond as a bad motherfucker. But I still feel that this Bond have been reduced to a thug instead of the agent he should be.

Number 5: George Lazenby
Starring in only one movie, in her majesty's secret service (1969), George Lazenby where in the same situation as Daniel Craig when it comes to expectations. The movie itself is a great contribution to the Bond series and I believe a lot of it is thanks to Lazenby. He brings the charm and a classy style to the character bond and also updated the character. Although this character cannot move higher in the list since the lack of contribution to the series.

Number 4: Timothy Dalton
This decision was really hard to make since I where thinking of putting him on the third spot in the list.
In 1987 Timothy Dalton replaced Roger Moore who where the playboy of the 007 agents. But now times where changing and the cold war became more dominant in movies. Bond would now fight the KBG and the playboy style just didn’t work anymore. Enter Timothy Dalton. Now James Bond became colder, more serious and more realistic. This paved the way for next generations of Bond characters.
This update didn’t take away the elements of James Bond though, instead Timothy Dalton managed to keep the charm and whit that characterize 007.
But the lack of contributions, only two movies, keeps Timothy Dalton from the third spot.

Number 3: Roger Moore
Roger Moore played James Bond in seven movies from 1973 to 1985. This is what I like to call the playboy era of the Bond series. Cool cars, trendy clothes, neat gadgets, luxury lifestyle and of course the women. Roger Moore played Bond during a time that where changing to. That included more fights with the Russians.
But the majority of the movies where about the sexy adventures around the world. This bond have been in the dessert, winter land, under water, jungles and the only Bond to date who has been in space.
Roger Moore made most James Bond movies of all the actors who have played Bond and almost all of them are classics. But these adventures can be a little repetitive. This puts Roger Moore on the number three spot.
Number 2: Sean Connery
For me there is no question about it, Sean Connery is one of the beast actors of all time. Sean Connery where the first James Bond and started of the series. He where the one who perfectly set the template for the rest of the 007 agents of the series. Sean Connery nails the part perfectly, especially in the movie Goldfinger (1964).
For creating the template and creating the classic James Bond Sean Connery gets the number two spot on the list. But for me there is something missing…

Number 1: Pierce Brosnan
Take Sean Connery, add Timothy Dalton and a great looking face. What do you get? Pierce Brosnan, the ultimate James Bond. I can imagine that this is what Ian Fleming had in mind when he wrote those novels. I can sum up the character James Bond acted by Pirce Brosnan with one word, goldeneye. I where 4-5 years old when Goldeneye (1995) came out This is the first James Bond I can remember seeing, but I think I where too young to really appreciate it like i do today.
Anyone who haven’t seen Goldeneye should really do it. I can write a long, long list of why Pierce Brosnan is the best Bond actor. But that would be too long for this post sp I am going to list some essential points instead. This 007 is cleaver, charming, well developed character, efficient in combat and stealthy.
Pierce also left on the top and that’s where we will remember him. He truly deserves the number one spot.

I hope that you have enjoyed this long post. I will close this with a quote from the Bond movies.

"When the world is the target and the threat is real, you can still depend on one man."

This quote sums up the character 007 no matter who plays him, it is truly the essence of Bond, James Bond.

New moon (2009) analyze

WARNING FOR A SARCASTIC ANALYZE!
That New moon(2009) where popular with the girls is no secret. New moon have given vampires a new image for the public that is quite more romantic then it where before. But why does girls find vampires and new moon so romantic? I have three theories.
1. Girls want a boyfriend who is over 100 years old and dead, which technically makes any one who makes love with a vampire a necrophilic person.

2. Girls thinks that vampires who must suck blood to survive, are aggressive, manipulative and dies when exposed to sunlight (not sparkle) is the perfect boyfriend to bring with to parties, restaurants, parks or just to hang out.

3. New moon, soft core fon for 11+ girls and soccer moms who gets rejected by the pool boy.

SWAT: Target Liberty (PSP)

It's fair, but something is missing...

This game is fair but I get the feeling that something isn't there when I play it. SWAT: Target Liberty is just a simple version to its older brothers SWAT 4 and SWAT 3. In this game, as in the games previous to this one in the series, you are a SWAT leader over a team of SWAT officers. But this time you only have the command over two officers, I think that it is too few. It really damages the feeling of commanding a SWAT team.

Other than that, the game is mediocre in all other aspects, fair at best. It doesn't stand out that much other than being a portable version, lighten and shorter. The game really makes me wish that I where playing SWAT 4 or SWAT 3 instead. But if you want to play a SWAT game on the bus or the train, then this will do just fine. On my scale it gets 5,5 out of 10. This is because this game isn't bad, it is just mediocre.

Let's play a little... Mega Man

Yes, I do suck that hard...
(Warning for potential bad sound quality)

Jurassic park (Gameboy)

You play as Dr Grant with something that looks like a rocket launcher, now save the children from Jurassic park!

Collect the eggs, escape the island and survive the dangers that Jurassic park is throwing at you. The player starts without any weapons and finds hostile dinosaurs all around. The player must find a nearby weapon and start to collect raptor eggs. When all of the eggs on the level are collected the player will get a data diskette and can then proceed to the next area. This is the main type of gameplay in this game. Sometimes different gameplay is introduced when the player reached the bosses and such.

The controls are very good I my opinion, fluent and easy to learn. The player gets three extra lives and a good amount of continues. Something that seems weird to me is that the player don't get unlimited continues. After all this is a gameboy game, not a arcade where people are waiting in a line behind you. This would make you think that this is a easy game, but you would be wrong. For me the game where quite hard to win, I think that this is because of the lack of saving features. This game is not made to finish in one streak I believe.

The story of this game is very loosely based around the plot of the novel while the graphics is based around the movie. This makes the graphics the big connection to why this is even a Jurassic park game. Because the music definitely don't provide the Jurassic park feeling and can in time be annoying. But the sound effects is good and satisfying when heard. The graphics is quite good for a gameboy. It looks like the Jurassic park, maybe not the area that where shown in the movie but still...

I give it a 7,5 of 10. This is, although the lack of saving features and the repetitive gameplay, a very fun game. But the game is very expensive and hard to find (for me anyway) so I only recommend this for the hardcore Jurassic park fans. But if one of your friends have the game and you are not a hardcore fan you should definitely check it out.

Here I am!

Welcome to my blog!
Who am I? I am a 20 year old guy from Sweden (so I apologies now for spelling errors) and I currently is studying computer game development (graphic) in the university.
What will this blog be about then? Well this blog will be about me, my projects, some reviews and maybe even some lessons. I am interested in many things like history, astronomy, drawing, paleontology, games and many other things. But what I really want to work with in the future is movie production.
This is also what this blog will be about, my journey to work with movie productions. I am thinking of doing some independent movies and post them here and blog about what happens.
If this sounds interesting for you then great! Pop in from time to time.
Cheers!
